In its 25th year, NASSCOM has rolled out this beautiful animated video as a tribute to Dewang Mehta – the man behind India’s unprecedented rise as a software heavyweight. He is the game-changer who can be credited for transforming the perceived Land of Snake-Charmers to an acknowledged IT superpower.
During his tenure as the head of NASSCOM between 1991 and 2001, he took a series of positive strides to catapult the nestling software industry in India to greater heights. His favorite slogan, “Roti, Kapada, Makan, Bijli and Bandwidth” eloquently epitomized the aspirations of the ambitious 21st century Indian.
On his death anniversary (12th April), let us use some bandwidth to thank Mr. Dewang Mehta for establishing the “brand” that India is today!
